About
Sky Pirates was founded in 2012 by musician "Lucky" Lance Fepuleai and illustrator Elliot Francis Stewart - two creatives with a shared vision: to make good art.
The name says it all. The sky represents the dream. To pirate is to take that dream without waiting for permission. That same energy continues to shape the work and ethos of the brand today.
Known for its hand-drawn artwork printed on high-quality garments, Sky Pirates stands apart from mass-produced, computer-generated design. No shortcuts, no generic graphics. Every piece is crafted with care and intention, offering something original to those who value art with depth and meaning.
Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, The Sky Pirates Gallery is more than a storefront - it’s a community space where clothing, art and coffee come together. The space regularly hosts exhibitions, collaborations and creative gatherings, supporting a diverse range of local artists and makers.
Sky Pirates is proudly independent and continues to create original work, support local endeavours and build a community around art that means something.
Original by nature. Never replicated.
